The various entrepreneurship training programmes are intended to provide the first changes in the skills and mindset of the students and teach company management skills to promote the development of an entrepreneurial culture.
Since its beginnings, ACTEC has developed many entrepreneurship training projects to assist informal economy micro-entrepreneurs. The informal economy accounts for between 35% and 50% of GDP on average in the countries in which we work. Unable to find work, many people have no alternative but to create their own company and work for themselves.
These micro-entrepreneurs often don’t receive any training or any assistance to improve the management and productivity of their business and are trapped in a subsistence activity with no growth potential.
Management training
Awareness-raising activities for young people during specialisation courses for micro-entrepreneurs who are already in business: the range of programmes is broad and diversified, based on the needs encountered by our partners and the capacities of the beneficiaries. The training sessions enable micro-entrepreneurs to become familiar with a range of management tools (finance, human resources, accounts, marketing, etc.) and with the best practices required to ensure the smooth operation of their company.
Technical assistance
This personalised support diagnoses the weaknesses and opportunities of the micro-enterprise and helps direct the micro-entrepreneur in implementing concrete improvements. This one-on-one coaching tool has a very significant impact on participants. Given its high cost, it is still reserved for the most highly motivated micro-entrepreneurs who can get a real benefit from it.
“Before taking the training, I was having trouble setting objectives and I didn’t know how I was going to take control and manage my young organisation. I’m much more confident about my decision-making now. I was able to improve my management skills and I feel seasoned enough to take on the new challenges of the future.”
