Every person has a diamond buried deep inside them. It’s the source of their talent and their energy. Together with our partners, I really like helping to awaken people’s talents so that they can make their dreams a reality: pride in a job well done and people working together with their families, friends and communities. Their progress is the oxygen that feeds my passion.”

MICHEL GARCIA
Degree in Applied Economic Sciences
I got hooked on development economics when I was at university. ACTEC provided me with an ideal setting to put my theories into practice to transform people and institutions. Our projects offer quality vocational training, which provides the shortest path to escape the grind of poverty. I feel very comfortable in my role as an assistant to our partners to make things happen!”

NATHAN HOLLANDERS
Masters in Science Management and European Studies
After a one-month humanitarian stay in India as part of my studies, my vision of the world changed radically and my desire to have a real positive impact on the world was born. Since then, I am deeply convinced that education and training are the basis for a sustainable and fairer society, allowing everyone to benefit from the same opportunities in life and to be able to develop fully. The choice to work at ACTEC therefore became obvious. I now monitor projects in Guatemala and Kenya.

MARIE-FRANCE DUSAUSOY
Master in International Relations
After 6 years of work experience in the financial field and 1 year of volunteering in Kinshasa at ACTEC’s partner CEFA/Monkole, I continue my professional path within the NGO. Willing to contribute to a fairer world where the dignity of every human being is ensured, I enthusiastically follow up on projects that help make higher quality training accessible and build the capacity of local organizations.

SOPHIE AUMAILLEY
Master in International Relations
Thanks to my university course focused on conflict transformation, I encountered realities of European post-conflict societies from Northern Ireland to Cyprus. After several professional experiences in Belgian politics and public administration, I got involved for Southern countries with a voluntary service in Togo and then with my engagement with ACTEC, where I am currently following projects in Guatemala and the DRC.

AMADEO VANDENHEEDE
Master of International Relations
Fallen under the charm of Latin America during an exchange student programme in Brazil (2016-2017), I quickly became interested in security and development issues. Following several rich experiences in the field of international cooperation, I joined ACTEC at the autumn 2020 with the commitment to fully invest myself for a fairer, more united and sustainable world. These human values are part of the daily work carried out by our NGO and its partners.

BELÉN VALENZUELA
Masters in NGO Management, Innovation and Leadership
I’m grateful for the freedom I enjoy as a European citizen and knowing that thousands of people live in poverty convinced me that it’s necessary to work on and commit to building a more human world. We have to provoke an “earthquake of solidarity”. I fully share ACTEC’s insistence on the value of every person and its vision that providing decent work is the best way to fight against poverty.

NDIAYA DIA
Masters in Population and Development Sciences
As a daughter of the Senegalese diaspora, I always felt sense of responsibility towards my country of origin. This moral duty has led me to undertake development studies, in Italy and Belgium, thus nourishing my growing interest in the subject of education. This explains the clear choice to join ACTEC, an organization which does not limit itself to helping everyone by “giving them the fish”, but by teaching them to fish, in order to contribute to their development and to become the master of their own success.
