Socio-professional integration of rural youth thanks to the strengthening of qualifying technical training
Despite recent public investment, the number of places available in technical and vocational training is very limited and is still seen as a “second” option. Our project intends to improve the quality of technical training provided by our partner so that it can become a real socio-professional integration alternative for young people in difficulty.
Our partner is specialised in vocational training for underprivileged youth. It offers a range of certified vocational training courses at a reasonable price, emphasising high-quality practical training.
ACTEC notably supports Mwangaza College to improve the quality of its hotel option through investment in new infrastructure, equipment and better practical exercises and teaching materials which are essential to transmitting practical know-how and qualifying skills and, therefore, to obtaining a job or creating a company in this promising field.
A tourist destination
Results
- Each year, 300 young people from underprivileged neighbourhoods take qualifying technical courses in the Hotel industry, as well as in the fields of Beauty Care, Sewing and IT.
- Implementation of an employment office to increase the rate of workplace integration of young people who complete their studies in the hotel and other industries at Mwangaza to 75%.
- Strengthening of the skills of the professors of Mwangaza College and of two other DLS colleges via the implementation of a staff training plan.
- Extension and equipping of the kitchen workshop to improve the quality of training and provide more practical courses.
