“Imagine a place where only 15% of the population has a bank account, but where one person out of two has a mobile telephone. That country is Kenya, with a population of 40 million people and 25 million mobile telephones.”

Our support is intended to improve the living standards of these young people from the slums who have been excluded from the educational system by facilitating their access to employment, thanks to technical and vocational training suited to the promising fields of Electricity, Electronics, Automotive Mechanics and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
ACTEC first assisted ECT with the construction of part of its new infrastructure to launch a new Technical Training Centre in a disadvantaged neighbourhood of Nairobi. We are currently supporting our partner to help them strengthen their team and improve the quality of training using the DUAL pedagogy.
- Construction of a new ECT College in 2015, which provides technical and vocational training based on the DUAL methodology.
- Each year 200 young people who have been excluded from the educational system take qualifying courses (six months) or degree courses (24 months) in Electronics and ICT via practical training modules.
- Equipping of the Electricity, Electronics and Computer workshops.
- Development of strategic relationships with companies in Nairobi and with Xabec, a well-known Spanish school.
